“ You feel for them. It’s a time that we can just help them escape their worries … and give them a taste of good old Southern hospitality.” – Mike McKee |
Welcome
We at the Southern Sportsmen Foundation believe that everyone should be able to explore nature and enjoy the connections that are made on a hunt. People don’t just hunt for the thrill of the conquest – they hunt for the satisfaction of the connections they make … between people, with wildlife, and with their environment.
SSF supporters understand that people of all abilities benefit from those experiences in nature, Sharing The Outdoors with other hunters and developing those connections that make them want to hunt again and again. It’s our mission to encourage others to enjoy the “great outdoors” and to provide opportunities to people who might otherwise never have the chance to hunt.
MDP Donation from Southern Sportsmen

A generous donation from Southern Sportsmen Foundation will allow the decaying, rough timbers on the Margaret Daniel Primary playground to be replaced, providing a safer play area for the Pre-K through first graders who romp there daily.
Allison Mears, behavioral interventionist with DeQueen Mena Educational Cooperative and secretary-treasurer of the Southern Sportsmen Foundation, presented MDP Principal Kay York with the $500 check from the non-profit Little River County organization whose goal is to promote sports activities for youth and physically challenged hunters.
The improvements on the playground, which will meet ADA (American Disabilities Act) requirements, will be an act of giving back. Southern Sportsmen provides several activities to support youth, including hunter's education courses and special youth hunts.
