“ You feel for them. It’s a time that we can just help them escape their worries … and give them a taste of good old Southern hospitality.” – Mike McKee |
Southern Sportsmen Foundation
We are a group of outdoor enthusiasts who want to share our love for the outdoors with people who have disabilities, including children and veterans. Our supporters believe that in the world of hunting, there is room for people of all abilities. We are dedicated to raising funds to help provide exceptional outdoor activities for people who have missed out on these experiences that we know can provide memories and enjoyment for a lifetime.
The Southern Sportsmen Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Foreman, Arkansas. The foundation is a spin-off organization of a local chapter of the Buckmasters American Deer Foundation (BADF), which includes participants from Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. That organization, formed in 1998 after founders realized a need to provide hunting opportunities for the disabled, has fulfilled many hunting wishes for children and young adults.
Since forming in 2004, SSF has sponsored more than 42 hunters with disabilities. The generous support of businesses and individuals has helped 28 adults and 14 youth from 12 states across America take part in exceptional hunting excursions.
The foundation works closely with the outdoor and wildlife departments of each state. We support their efforts to ensure the protection, conservation and preservation of our natural resources. Learn more:
