“ I don’t look at it as we’re guides. We try to become friends and get it on a personal level.” – Mike McKee |
Hunts
The foundation organizes hunts for disabled adults and youth alike. Each hunt is guided by skilled outdoorsmen who donate their time and expertise to make sure every outing is a success.
SSF organizes two guided, three-day deer hunts every year with an average of six hunters on each excursion. Keeping the guide/hunter ratio low makes for a great time of camaraderie and fellowship. As a result, guides and hunters form lifelong friendships.
Our adult hunt has been nicknamed the “Redneck Safari,” an indication of the humor and fun times each hunt brings. Our “Hunt of a Lifetime”, planned exclusively for younger hunters, has lived up to its name for many youth, and is a cooperative effort of Starch Creek Hunting Club and SSF.
2011 hunt dates:
- Youth Hunt of a Lifetime -- November 4, 5, & 6
- Adult Whitetail Deer Hunt -- November 16, 17, & 18
