“ We’ve made real good friends with everyone. It’s like a second family; that’s how tight we’ve become.” – Roy Paul Neiman |
MDP Donation from Southern Sportsmen![]() A generous donation from Southern Sportsmen Foundation will allow the decaying, rough timbers on the Margaret Daniel Primary playground to be replaced, providing a safer play area for the Pre-K through first graders who romp there daily. Allison Mears, behavioral interventionist with DeQueen Mena Educational Cooperative and secretary-treasurer of the Southern Sportsmen Foundation, presented MDP Principal Kay York with the $500 check from the non-profit Little River County organization whose goal is to promote sports activities for youth and physically challenged hunters. The improvements on the playground, which will meet ADA (American Disabilities Act) requirements, will be an act of giving back. Southern Sportsmen provides several activities to support youth, including hunter's education courses and special youth hunts. |
